I’ve always been fascinated by elephants, so when I had the opportunity to visit Ele Camp Udawalawe in Sri Lanka, I jumped at the chance. The camp is located in Udawalawe National Park, which is home to a large number of elephants.
I arrived at the camp in the evening, and I was immediately struck by the beauty of the setting. The camp is set in a lush green area, and there are elephants everywhere. I could hear them trumpeting in the distance, and I couldn’t wait to see them up close.
I was assigned to a luxury tent, which was beautifully appointed and had a private balcony with stunning views of the park. I could see elephants grazing in the distance, and I even saw a few swimming in the lake.
The next morning, I went on an elephant safari. We were driven into the park in a jeep, and we soon came across a herd of elephants. The elephants were very curious about us, and they came up to the jeep to investigate. We were able to get some amazing close-up views of the elephants, and I even got to touch one!
After the safari, I went back to the camp for lunch. The food was delicious, and I especially enjoyed the fresh seafood. In the afternoon, I took a walk in the park. I saw a variety of other animals, including monkeys, deer, and buffalo. I also saw a number of beautiful birds, including peacocks and hornbills.
I spent the rest of the day relaxing at the camp. I swam in the pool, read a book, and enjoyed the peace and quiet. It was the perfect way to end a perfect day.
I had an amazing time at Ele Camp Udawalawe. It was a truly unique and unforgettable experience. If you are looking for a safari adventure in Sri Lanka, I highly recommend Ele Camp Udawalawe.
